This book was so much better than the blurb would lead you to believe. Vampires and werewolves, I still haven't got tired of them yet.
For the past year, since the death of her dad, Lexie has been dreaming about the same guy. She returns towards him feeling so happy to see him but when she reaches him, the dream ends in death.
Lexie's mom has a new boyfriend and the relationship moves really quick. Before she knows it, her mom is selling their condo and moving Lexie and her sister to Maine along with her boyfriend Dragos and his three sons.
While Lexie is out exploring the new town she meets some kids her age who invite her to a party. And who does she meet at the party but Torin, the boy from her dreams.
But weird things are happening in the woods around the town and animals are ending up dead.
This was different take on the vampire and werewolf mythology. There are two different types of vampire, the damphyr, who only feeds on animals and keeps their human side and the draugr, a bloodthirsty violent full vampire monster who feeds on humans. We don't learn as much about the werewolves as they don't come to light until the end of the book even though the reader is aware of them throughout the story. Hopefully, we will learn more about them in the next instalment in the series.
This book is written from the point of view of Lexie, Torin and every few chapters we get a viewpoint of the wolf. We are left to make up our own minds as to which of the four wolves this is.
Lexie and Torin are both likeable characters with more serious personalities. There is a good few secondary characters who are all well written and identifiable and add the sarcasm and humour to the book.
This book is well written except for the odd sentence which needs a bit more editing.
If you like vampires and werewolves, then be sure to pick up this book. Its a thoroughly enjoyable read. I liked the idea of "fate-partners" rather than imprinting and the "fangerection".
I really liked this cover too.
