When We Wake

By: Little Brown Books for Young Readers
My name is Tegan Oglietti, and on the last day of my first lifetime, I was so, so happy.
Sixteen-year-old Tegan is just like every other girl living in 2027 - she's happiest when playing the guitar, she's falling in love for the first time, and she's joining her friends to protest the wrongs of the world: environmental collapse, social discrimination, and political injustice.
But on what should have been the best day of Tegan's life, she dies - and wakes up a hundred years in the future, locked in a government facility with no idea what happened.
Tegan is the first government guinea pig to be cryonically frozen and successfully revived, which makes her an instant celebrity - even though all she wants to do is try to rebuild some semblance of a normal life. But the future isn't all she hoped it would be, and when appalling secrets come to light, Tegan must make a choice: Does she keep her head down and survive, or fight for a better future?
Award-winning author Karen Healey has created a haunting, cautionary tale of an inspiring protagonist living in a not-so-distant future that could easily be our own.

This one sounds really interesting and not too far fetched. I'm really looking forward to reading about her life in the future.
What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

This book reminds me of Beta by Rachel Cohn just because of the font... or maybe the cover model to. It looks interesting, definitely looking forward for this book!

I just found out about this and now can't wait to read it! Great choice!
Check out what I'm Waiting On.
We pick the same book! Haha. I'm really excited to read this one. :D

It sounds... heavy, like there is much that would confuse you just as it's confusing Tegan. Not so sure if this wouldn't end in a disaster... but it's definitively interesting, so I agree it's something to look forward to. Nice choice! My WoW this week
This sort of reminds me of Across the Universe (which I loved). Great pick Suzanne! :)
Wow this does sound like an interesting read! I like the cover too! Thanks for bringing this book to my attention Suzanne, I seem to be adding more and more books after each wow post I see! :)
I read the summary for this book a few days ago and I think it sounds pretty darn good! I'm so not a fan of close up face covers thoughs. There have been so many recently...whats up with this trend!? :)
oooh! This book is on my arc wish list!!!! the synopsis sounds awesome!

Oh, my God! HOW did I not see this before? I'm incredibly drawn to it. The cover is amazing and the summary sounds so promising. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Great pick, Suzanne!
Wow sounds exciting. I can only imagine the thought provoking ideas in this one. I will definitely be watching for this one. Thanks for the heads up!

I read one of Karen Healey's other books and thought it was okay so I'll probably wait to see what people - like you :) - think of this one before picking it up. Lol, it sounds like such a mixture of sci-fi and dystopian, two genres I'm still not exactly comfortable with.
I haven't heard of this one but it looks great. Thanks for sharing :)

Oohhh this is why I love this feature because I've never even heard of this book, but it sounds awesome.
